Turn off 3d google maps. Switch between google maps versions. The map was 3d from the start but you could go to the upper left to the three bars and turn the feature off to just get the old style regular satellite shots. If you are talking about the topo maprotjpg then you can turn that off by typing xref and in the xref window selecting that file and right click and unloading if you want to keep it in the drawing but just not have it visible or you can just select and delete or detach if you dont want it. The layer button is showing up on maps v1028 and above.

There are two versions of google maps on your computer you can use. For news and announcements from and about google. The 3d imagery always looks terrible and is usually more outdated so id rather not use it if i can. This is the standard google maps experience.
